Hi,
I have seen numerous job postings saying that they want a teaching license in addition to a TEFL certificate.

What exactly are they looking for in terms of a teaching license? Is that a degree in education?

Hello Jeet and thanks for stopping by with a comment and question. A teaching license is not the same as TEFL certification.

To get a teaching license in the U.S. for example you must:

1.Complete a bachelor's degree and other prerequisite required coursework.

2. Complete a state-approved teacher preparation program.

3. Pass required exams. This is for Wisconsin. But each state is different and each country is different. So for example in Texas to get a teaching license you'll need a degree, complete an Educator Preparation Program and pass the exam.

In Vietnam you will need a BA degree and TEFL certification. This can be online TEFL certification. It counts towards getting your visa.
