What bachlores degree is recommended to have before getting TESOL certified? Is it better to get a bachlores degree or just the TESOL certification?

Hi Christy,
Any 4 year bachelors degree will do. I know some ESL teachers who majored in music and got jobs.
They had a degree and were native speakers. These 2 qualifications are most important.

However for higher paying jobs like university positions TEFL certification, language related degrees and experience carry weight.

For those who are just entering the teaching field, those with an online TEFL degree will have an edge over those without one when competing with similar skill sets.
